Gori is widely known as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. The city’s main attraction — the Stalin Museum — includes his childhood home, a large collection of personal belongings, and Stalin’s original railway carriage displayed in the courtyard. Gori is also one of the oldest cities in Georgia. You can climb up to the rocky hill to visit Gori Fortress, a medieval citadel dating back to the 6th century, offering panoramic views of the Liakhvi and Kura river valleys.
